Yapi Kredi Emeklilik A.Ş. is one of the largest pension and life insurance providers in Turkey and has been a major force in the growth and development of pension schemes and group insurance in the country. Its sister company, Yapi Kredi Sigorta A.Ş., is the second largest health insurer in Turkey, and together, both companies provide coverage to approximately 700,000 insureds.

In order to comply with the new Individual Pension Law requiring that health and life insurance be provided by separate entities, Yapi Kredi Emeklilik transferred its health portfolio to Yapi Kredi Sigorta, which also conducted business in the non-life insurance sector and, in turn, took over Yapi Kredi Sigorta’s life insurance portfolio. Yapi Kredi Emeklilik and Yapi Kredi Sigorta established the Yapi Kredi Insurance Group.

Both Yapi Kredi Emeklilik and Yapi Kredi Sigorta offer a range of insurance, actuarial, and administrative products and services for corporate and individual clients. Each product is designed and regularly updated to meet the changing needs of clients, with emphasis on flexibility and quality service. Yapi Kredi Insurance Group uses advanced computer modeling to provide tailor-made solutions to fit the needs of any size group.

Yapi Kredi Emeklilik A.Ş. was originally known as Halk Yaşam Sigorta but changed its name to Yapi Kredi Yaşam in 2000 to reflect its affiliation with parent company, Yapi ve Kredi Bank. With the implementation of the new Private Pension System, Yapi Kredi Yaşam Sigorta A.Ş. changed its name to Yapi Kredi Emeklilik A.Ş. in 2002.

The majority owner of Yapi ve Kredi Bank is Koçbank, part of Koç Financial Services A.S., the financial joint-venture between UniCredit and Koç Group.
