TOWER
New Zealand
TOWER was established in 1869 as the Government Life Office, which sold life insurance and pensions through a nationwide distribution system in collaboration with the New Zealand Post Office. In the 1980s, the government began reducing its presence in business activities. In 1990, the organization was renamed TOWER and converted to a mutual company owned by its policyholders. Immediately thereafter, TOWER rapidly grew to a leadership position and expanded its presence in the region.
In September 1999, TOWER demutualized and listed on both the New Zealand and Australian stock exchanges. Through a successful series of mergers and acquisitions, TOWER has become one of New Zealand’s fastest growing financial services companies offering a portfolio of products and services that includes insurance, savings and investments, asset management and trustee services.
TOWER has over NZD 22.5 billion (USD 15.8 billion) in group assets under management and is part of the TOWER Group, a diversified financial services organization that offers a comprehensive range of risk insurance and wealth management products and services to approximately one million customers in Australia, New Zealand and certain islands in the South Pacific.
TOWER has been an IGP Network Partner since 2004.
